Will this help me?

I just watched an episode of Californication which is a televsion show on Showtime starring David Duchovney as a 1 hit wonder writer who is experiencing a substantial dry spell. (5 years to be exact). His wife, who he is still in love with has left him for another man, his daughter has just confessed that he never fails to disappoint her, and he's fucked a 16yr old. This could be a very simplistic reason as to why he can't seem to get anything down on paper but I it could be a start.

The show is entertaining and smart and while Hank Moody (Duchovney) is a cynic, a womanizer, and a general asshole, he's an appealing and likeable character because of his wit and charm. And perhaps some women would say his good looks don't hurt.

Moody's talent agent is desperate to get his one time famed author back on his feet again and encourages him to start blogging for a popular blogsite called Hell-A. Moody immediately dismisses the idea, insulted that a novelist such as himself would stoop so low as to being known as a "blogger". But after much convincing (some from his ex wife, though she was never actually his wife) he starts writing for Hell-A.
His first entry: I HATE YOU ALL.

I am finishing up my college years and will graduate with a BA in International Business and Economics. My major is a practical one; what with globalization and merging economies, why not squeeze them both into one all encompassing theme. And while I've taken a few enlightening courses that i have enjoyed, I have also taken far too many classes that i could some up in one word: fluff. A class on marketing, in my opinion, is a joke. But now i'm straying from my point. Being an economic and business major, I never had the chance to take many classes that I secretely wanted to try; the main one being creative writing.

Winter break is coming to a close and with my last semester fast approaching in just 2 weeks, I have satisfied enough "fluff" major requirements in Economics so that I can take a course in creative writing. And this is why I have decided to start a blog.

I haven't written anything yet. Not a story, a poem, nothing at all. I am clueless as to where to start and though long ago I wrote a short fiction piece that people said had potential, since then, nothing.

So I plan to try to shake my writers block just like Hank Moody is trying to shake his.

Tomorrow I'm going to write about being a temp worker. and the perilious lifestyle it can be.

-this helped.
